We are delighted to share wonderful news with you — Lynnise Smith has joined Elevate Northland as our new Executive Director!

Lynnise is no stranger to building communities, empowering entrepreneurs, and creating opportunities where they’re needed most. With over two decades of leadership experience in nonprofit management, supplier diversity, business development, and community engagement, she’s dedicated her career to helping people and organizations thrive.

Before joining Elevate Northland, Lynnise served as President & CEO of the Women’s Business Enterprise Council Ohio River Valley (WBEC ORV). During her time there, she successfully led the organization’s transition to an independent 501(c)(3), expanded corporate partnerships, and launched signature programs. She also held leadership roles in supplier diversity and procurement at OhioHealth, Battelle, and the State of Ohio – always with a focus on economic inclusion and growth.

When we asked Lynnise what excites her most about leading Elevate Northland, she shared:

“Northland’s rich cultural diversity and entrepreneurial spirit make it a vibrant community. I look forward to working alongside our dedicated team, board, and partners to create even greater opportunities for residents and businesses.”

In her role as Executive Director, Lynnise will guide Elevate Northland’s programs, partnerships, and advocacy efforts to support small businesses, celebrate cultural diversity, and strengthen the economic foundation of our community.
