Elevate Northland Announces New Leadership
August 25, 2024Groundbreaking Announced on Renovation at Elevate Northland Center
Elevate Northland will officially be moving forward with its long-awaited plans to add community space and upgraded co-working to the Elevate Northland Center at 4848 Evanswood Drive.
The Center’s improvements, funded through generous gifts by donors and funding from the State of Ohio, Franklin County, the City of Columbus and the AEP Foundation, will include three Community Rooms that can be used for meetings and events, and will be designed to expand into one or two larger rooms. Additional restroom facilities and modernization of the office space are included in the plans.
The Center has become a hub of nonprofit, art and business activity in Northland. Even without the renovations, Northland’s first GCAC-funded art exhibit was held in the warehouse space this summer, attracting exhibiting artists and visitors. Four nonprofit organizations currently call the space home, including Elevate Northland, Northland Community House, Our Helpers, Leveling the Playing Field and the Northland Area Business Association. Business tenants include SiteInSIght web marketing, Atlas Butler Heating and Cooling (auxiliary location) and MP Digital. The construction project will create additional space for nonprofits and businesses in Northland, as well as providing meeting space and event space for the community. The center currently offers co-working memberships, office space and warehouse space with access via loading docks and drive-in bay doors.
The organization has raised $3 million toward this project, and has been working with Moody-Nolan architects and with advice, guidance and support from Cameron Mitchell of Cameron Mitchell Restaurants — both of Columbus — to envision and plan the project.
